SLANG EXPRESSION IN ENGLISH (PART 1)


When we learn English, we must want to know some expressions in English that we always say mostly in daily life, especially slang expression. The slang expression is informal language which actually is used by teenager or some groups.

That's why, if you want to speak English well, it much be better for you to understand the slang expression. But before you speak using slang expression, you have to pay attention with whom you speak to, because some of this expression impress rude.

Let's pay attention to some examples of slang expression in English and its meaning in Indonesian:
 
§   Don’t ask too many questions!      : Jangan kepo                                      
§   That’s your problem!                   : Itu derita loe
§   I’m feeling blue.                          : Lagi galau nih
§   I mean it.                                   : Aku ciyus neh
§   Just ignore it.                             : Abaikan saja
§   He/she is a gullible teenager.        : Dia masih ababil
§   Excuses! Excuses!                        : Ada-ada saja alasannya
§   It’s pretty fair.                             : Cukup adilah
§   I burned the midnight oil.             : Aku belajar semalam suntuk
§   Stay cool! Don’t lose your head.    : Tenang, jangan kehilangan akal
§   She’s/he’s grown-up.                    : Dia sudah aqil balig
§   We’re all buddies.                        : Kami semua teman akrab
§   She/he likes showing off.              : Dia sok aksi
§   Don’t react too much!                   : Jangan alay
§   I’m catching a cold.                      : Aku lagi masuk angin neh
§   No breaking into the line.              : Ga boleh nyerobot antrian
§   Don’t act like a fool!                      : Jangan bertindak seperti orang bodoh
§   It’s just fine for me.                      : Bagiku asyik-astik aja tuh
§   That’s common.                            : Itu sih biasa!
§   I’ll treat you.                                 : Aku yang traktir
